Type 2 diabetes accounts for about 95% of diabetes cases. Type 2 diabetes results from a lack of chromium, not a lack of sulfur. MSM is 34% sulfur by weight and decomposes in to elemental sulfur in the body. The sulfur is used in insulin production, but in the early stages of type 2 diabetes there is too much insulin being released. This is what leads to the serious side effects of the diabetes of retinopathy, kidney failure, gangrene and a lot of the heart disease.


Chromium on the other hand helps to open up the insulin receptors allowing the body to utilize its insulin and preventing the over secretion of insulin. Here is a link to some abstracts I posted on chromium and diabetes:
