New F165 buyer...need help w/ buying contacts

Just bought a new F165 freq generator and SC-1. Don't know for sure if the bean is working as I haven't been able to get many of what I'd call "hits." The attached gold jack was damaged upon receipt by USPS and that was replaced...but nevertheless, the units were banged around quite a bit. So either my DNA samples may be suspect, or the SC-1 unit itself could have been damaged. I've never "zapped before," so I don't know the what a direct contact "hit" would feel like. So I'm going to buy contact (footpads) for sure to supplement the unit.

I was wondering if anyone out there can help me with a supplier who sells footpads that will link up directly to the F165. I found these guys,

but he wants $30 shipping and he's only 90 miles away...plus, tack on Ca. state sales tax and that's over $50. I was however interested in these because they couple up perfectly as they were designed for the F100 series. But I'd use anything...alligator clips or whatever, as long as it's effective.

Also, Newport posted in a much earlier post (over a year ago) that the 20KHz 10 watts amplifier was NOT NECCESSARY. Does this still apply?
