Re: If majority has stones how come only some are symptomatic/cleansing while symptomatic
In September 2002 I was having severe attacks lasting sometimes as long as 6 or 8 hours at a time. These prompted me to do my first cleanse. One cleanse eliminated the symptoms and I did another in March 2003 in the absence of symptoms.
Before the first cleanse, I asked around among friends and friends of friends -- live humans, in person, not anonymous message board postings -- as I too was concerned about a stuck stone and found no one who had this happen, even among those who didn't use
Epsom Salts . (I took ES just to be safe.) To feel the stones moving felt strange to be sure, but at no point did I experience any pain.
In November 2004, I started having an attack 6-8 hours after any time I went an extended period of time without eating and then consuming a full meal which would typically include some sort of fat. Unfortunately I was out of town for an extended period and couldn't get around to cleansing.
Finally 2 weeks ago it was so bad I knew I had to make cleansing a priority and with one cleansing last Friday night, I already have been able to eat the fried catfish (and fries, coleslaw, hushpuppies, pecan pie) I so dearly love and rarely let myself enjoy, even after I skipped lunch. That's how much improvement I had with ONE cleanse. No attacks, no burping, no shoulder or abdominal pain or lump in throat. NOW I know I need to finish the job and cleanse more regularly so that I am completely free of stones...I'm doing #4 tonight.
Here's what you're really looking at, Jen:
Without cleansing your only option is surgery which is the worst-case scenario. Your GB came as a standard body part and I suspect you would experience better health overall with it even if you CAN live without it.
With cleansing, you could, hypothetically, experience a stuck stone. If that happened, the worst-case scenario, once again, would be surgery.
You really have nothing to lose and everything to gain from cleansing. My vote is reschedule the appointment for mid-April (you can cancel it once you yourself are certain you won't need it), give yourself a month to cleanse, and see how good you can start feeling again. And don't tell mother-in-law JACK until it's over, you don't need to worry about defending yourself against her well-meaning but misguided information; you need to get well so you can enjoy your beautiful precious child!
Best of luck!
