Re: Can cold shower therapy hurt if you are hypoadrenal?

Okay I have tried a few cold showers & they definitnely are good against depression. However, to avoid shocking my adrenals I just do one body part at a time. You might be surprised how quickly that body part heats up & is not bothered at all by the cold - within seconds.

You put the right foot in and you shake it all about (because of the cold!)..you put the left foot in...etc. etc. working your way up. Don't forget the very important armpits, and then, last the head. That is the most shocking place to start. You may need to shampoo each time as I notice this practice gave me oily hair. That was the only negative effect - other than the brrrrs - & is supposed to be do to cleansing out the system.

About 5 minutes works fine for me, total. I have a space heater going to step out into, and moisturizers.

Since I have long hair with temporary coloring, I dont' want to do this more than 1X per day. Men have got it made, or anyone with short hair, for this practice.

As an adjunct, so I can get the benefits twice a day, I use one of those ice cube head packs & other ice packs (you can make your own easily with freezer bags, cotton pads & water inside, then put into a sock in the freezer.)
while at the computer. This, sadly, is not nearly as helpful as a cold shower, but it is definitely helpful.
