Moondine
Hi Everyone,
I read the Nature thread and loved many of the poems that were there.
I would like to add one that I dedicated to Moondine. I used to live on a farm, a farm where I met Moondine. She was a beautiful white horse and she was 32 years old.
She spent many years with cattle and fortunately she had the opportunity to live her last year with three other horses. She was like their mother and she truly took them under her wing.
Moondine was as white as snow and many evenings she was up at at the house by the fence. She purely glistened in the light of the moon.
She began to suffer in her old age. She peacefully rested her head in my lap. I held her in my arms. Her eyes and mine met and she gently blinked and sighed. She gently cantered onwards and left this message to tell those who loved her.....
As I gallantly gallop,
Over a grassy mound,
I heard a whisper,
Of a familiar sound,
It is those of my family,
So peaceful and free,
I am with them again,
With thanks to my human family.
