Our stories are very similar. I hope your doctor did thyroid testing as many women with the Mirena end up with damagede thryoid glands, become hypothryoid, and need meds for the rest of their lives. After the Mirena was removed, my episodes of joint pain became less frequent and decreased in severity. I'm around 1 year post removal and about 90% better. I still feel my joints are more easily injured with exercise or activity than before the Mirena, but at least the worst of it seems to be over. I'm so glad you're having yours removed before things get worse.
