Re: Need help for yeast infection?

Hi Gayle

Seems likely your sister has Candida infection (a yeast form of fungus).

Look up 'Candida' at www.Amazon.com for books on this subject. Personally I find these books most useful for pointing up anticandida supplements, but less useful for the diet recomendations.

Please be aware that Candida thrives in an 'acid' environment, which will have been created by too much meat and carbohydrate foods and drinks (including all sugary foods / drinks). It is fundamental to move the body over to the alkaline side to create an unfavourable environment, do this with frshly prepatred juices from Salads and veg only - not fruit, and greatly increasing salads and veg intake.

Probably the most effective anticandida diet looks very much like an Atkins diet (drop out the carbohydrate, keep protein, fats), but instead of emphasising the meat - i.e. protein part, emphasise salads and veg in the meal. Many anti-candida diets have a heavy reliance of slow release carbohydrates, which seems to make getting rid of Candida a long hard grind (years).

Please also be aware there are a range of anti-candida supplements, and the biggest danger is that they work so well the yeast starts to die off, so poisoning the body in a pretty serious way, so if your sister starts to feel bad, back off, rest and come back on, steadilly increasing the pressure on the yeast over time.

Doctors can prescribe antifungal medications, they tend not to be long term solutions, becasue the heart of the matter is an acid sugary diet, Antibiotics that knock out friendly gut bacteria (allowing natural gut yeast to get out of hand) and weak immune system that cannot fight effectively.

Unfortunately, your sister will have to want to take on a fight that will last many months, have committment to stick with it through thick and thin, and be interested enough to find out about this infection.

Hope this helps
