I went with my mother also, who has since passed away. It was one of the last times she was strong enough to do that. She loved movies about the Lord.

You are right, that as protestants we concentrate on the resurrection.I'm glad of that, but a reality check like that was necessary for the world.

I had heard so much controversy by then, I knew it would be difficult to see.

Many Christian groups refused to see it, thinking they wanted only the exact biblical account in their memories. A movie must have some artistic license, I think. It was very accurate, though.I did see Pontius Pilate in a bit of a different light, he washed his hands of it. He was by no means innocent but he didn't seem to want to, he left it to the will of the people. It had to be done to fulfill God's Plan of redemption.
