You shouldn't be afraid or hesitant unless your head might be cut off if you do LF. What I did was I just explained calmly to my family what it is why I do in understandable to them language. Be prepared and convincing. And if that doesn't work you can't do much, just it and let them wonder. If they sense you are unsure about what you do or you are afraid it will be much worse in a sense you will get a very hard time them you to believe what you do. You never know, later on they might get on bord with you.
