Predictions for March 2010
« on: February 27, 2010, 06:23:39 AM »
Folks,
I mailed out my Top Windows List along with my SYZYGY newsletters yesterday morning, well ahead of the 7.0M in Japan and the 8.8M in Chile, both of which score 90% as they were less than 24 hours early.
Also the 4.1M and others in SoCal since yesterday score at least 90%.
This Window of Feb 28-Mar 6th contains one of four Perigean Spring Tides for the year, so it is quite a clear window.
PREDICTIONS FOR MARCH
The Seismic Window of February 28-March, 2010 is based largely upon the full Moon and close perigee of February 28 that were only 20 hours apart. This synchroneity qualifies it as one of only four perigean tides for the year. It is somewhat surprising that the maximum tide range on Feb. 26th reaches only 7.4 ft., rather than 8+ ft. normally seen at the Golden Gate for such a synchronicity. In any case the mid-continent earth tide amplitude doubtless exceeds two feet during this Window..
With 80”% confidence I expect one or more earthquakes during this Window having the following parameters:
(1) 3.5-6.5M within 140 miles (2-degrees) of Mt. Diablo (37.9N; 121.9W)
(2) 3.5-6.5M within 140 miles of Los Angeles (34.0N; 118..0W)
(3) 3.5-6.5M with an epicentral location of Washington or Oregon
(4) 7.0M+ (major quake) globally, most likely within the Pacific Ring of Fire, where more than 80% of such quakes occur.
