With the fresh leaves I would use a tablespoon to 1/4 cup, later I read that she advises 1/2 cup of the fresh leaves. Sometimes I would just scoop a little honey in a tablespoon then heap on chopped leaves. I did sometimes dry the leaves, then crumple them to bits and mix with honey. The honey held it together and I had little problem swallowing unless I took too big a lump at one time. I usually washed it down with the green Black-Walnut tincture in hot water (to drive off the alcohol).
I now buy the Wormwood capsules from Self Help Resource Center and use 7 capsules. I have difficulty swallowing pills so usually mash 1/2 ripe bananna and empty the Wormwood capsules onto that, and mix it in well. I think I've used cooked pears also.
The fresh leaves would dry to about 1/3 the volume when crumpled and broken up. Making a powder - some people do this in a coffee grinder reduces the volume a little more. You can figure out from this how many tablespoons of the powder needed in the dose.
