Re: Kefir VS Yogurt

Hi! I just bought some Kefir grains from you. And now I want to be ready to put them into the best possible/available liquid, when they arrive.

The food stores here in Sweden are degenerated to put it lightly, you can't always find organic fruits and veggies. And of course not unpasteurised milk! They aren't dedicated to supply people with the healthiest food that they can find.

So perhaps you can give me some quick advice of how to grow healthy Kefir without raw milk? And I think it would be great if you could compile a page or a video of alternative ways to produce kefir.

So here is what I can get:
I will be able to get pasteurised ecologic milk or yogurt. And I'm making a milk from raw peanuts, sunflower seeds and banana. This, and similar versions of this milk is easy to ferment as it is, and tastes great! (unlike pasteurised milk)
However: would all of the bacteria cultures survive on this?
I have heard that people have been getting great results with water kefir, but I don't want to reduce the quality of my kefir.

Thank you so much for your information and your Kefir grains!
