Re: Optic Nerve Healing
not an
Edgar Cayce solution but check out rutin supplements (always proceed w/caution when treating oneself -- do not take my word for it -- do your own research and then proceed w/caution). I take rutin which I originally took for a bladder infection and found that as a "side effect" my eyesight cleared up. I looked rutin up and found (in my home sources and well as on the internet) that rutin is recommended to treat glaucoma (which is evidently a deterioration of the optic nerve) due to and/or in tandem with increased pressure within the eyeball (which I think contributes to macular degeneration as well). Here is a site which lists possible side effects from taking rutin as well as benefits.

I find rutin very helpful w/eye problems and take it daily.
Cayce mentions raw potato poultices and a diluted solution of glycothymolilne as well as castor oil packs for eye problems. I wld research what you can about these. Eyebright herb is also supposed to be very good for strengthing the eyes. You can drink it as a tea, use it as eyedrops or an eyewash. Vitamin A is also important for overall eye health. Cooked carrots are supposedly better for the absorption of Vitamin A than raw carrots. I cldnt find anything specific to optic nerve in the book called "The
Edgar Cayce Rememdies" which I found in my home library. There may be an unpdated version of this, though.
I have a great resource (somewhere) which gives herb, food, and folk remedies for all kinds of diseases -- if I find it and it has more info -- particularly as regards optic nerve -- I will post it. Have you checked out the "eyes" forum here?
