Optic Nerve Damage

Hi,

I have sustained minor damage to my optic nerve and now I am seeing black spots and white flashes of light. I also have a light pressure behind the eyes and it feels like they are being strained. I went to an ophthalmologist and he said I had damage to the optic nerve. He said that the optic nerve never heals and this is permanent damage. However I have seen countless ailments that conventional medicine claimed were "incurable" be cured after all.
