concerned about newborn's lungs

hi group...i had my 3rd child and according to our OB doctor he says she was full term at 37 wks and we had to have her early because she was not gaining weight...so when she came out, i heard her cry and scream as normal babies are when they are first born, but we found out that her lungs we're not fully developed and according to the pedi doctor on site, he thinks she is actually 35-36 wks old....so her lungs is not expanding and is a little difficult on breathing on her own...so now she is in nic unit with tubes and ivs, and they are keeping a close eye on her, and she is on a low stimulation area so that she doesnt get jumpy or anything will cause her lung to expand and will result in having complications with her lungs.....

what i am trying to get at is how much should i be concerned about her condition

the pediatrician on site told me to not worry about her because all other parts of her organs are healthy and blood flow is healthy, she's red flush as healthy as how a baby should be, just her lungs are not fully developed.
