I have read mood cure many many times and also dr wilson's book
I had a hair analysis by dr wilson. He suggested a bunch of supplements. Most of which I had tried before with no help or to which I was allergic. I am one of those people that julia ross mentions that supplements don't work. One has to be able to digest and assimilate supplements for them to work.
II have candida. I eat nothing candida would like. I went to a nutrition doctor for 2 years. He muscle tested all supplements that he gave me. In the end, I ended up feeling worse. He said my problem is mercury, so I got my fillings out. I got worse. I suspect the mercury supplements the dentist gave to me made me worse. I got suicidally depressed taking chorella, garlic, c, a, and whatever else the dentist tossed my way. Supplements are not everyone's savior.
5 htp did nothing for me, adrenal glandular made me more anxious. Taking adrenal cortex did nothing for me either. As they say, I end up with expensive urine.
I am taking tryptophan, which I don't think is doing anything for my depression, and it is a prescription.
St johns wort is like antidepressants and they devour serotonin enzymes making more serotonin hang around. Thus, st john's wort does not fix the problem. Plus, I took it a long time ago, and it only managed to make me very sleepy.
