Re: What Kind Of Alcohol To Make Tinctures?

For most people yes, but its the quality of the herbs we are concerned with.  We always make sure we buy the best quality organically grown herbs we can find.  When you start buying Vodka by the case it gets really expensive since a lot of us buy more than 2-3 cases at a time.

I never was much of a drinker but back in the day when I did drink a little I drank Chivas Regal Scotch. When I was in a casino where they served you free drinks I always ordered Chivas and they always brought me their house brand which to me was very harsh, enough so that I couldn't drink it.  So to me, the only reason to buy the expensive name brand alcohol is because of taste but once the tincture is done the alcohol is imbued with the herb and tastes more like the herbs.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with using an expensive Vodka if you prefer, just remember that its all about the herbs, using a more expensive Vodka doesn't make a better tincture.  ;))
