My girlfriend is addicted to ultram! (tramadol)

Hi,

My girlfriend injured her back a few years ago and has been taking Ultram (tramadol) since for the pain.

She's psychologically ready to quit and she's disciplined, but she's also physically hooked, and whenever she tries to go for 4 pills a day or lower, her body freaks out and she can't sleep and feels like puking, and even more I think!

She has cut down from about 10 pills at her peak but can't go lower than 4. She has a high pain threshold so it must be really really tough. I had no idea getting off a prescription drug could be this hard.

Does anyone have any experience or advice for quitting this type of opiate, or opiates in general. I guess she will have to suffer but maybe someone knows how to make coming of this stuff easier?

She's a lovely lass and doesn't deserve this s**t.
