Re: Antacids and epsom salts

Hi Hopinso

Use the Key word 'Prostaglandin' to research pain. You should find pro-inflamatory prostaglandins, which derive from Aracadonic acid which itself is driven by high consumption of red meat.

Anti-inflamatory prostagladins derive from Omega 3 oils, fish oils in particular are excellent, and Omega 6 oils, of which GLA is pretty powerful.

The easy anti-inflamatory approach is to cut the red meat, up oily fish and take additional fish oils and GLA oils (like tablespoon amounts).

While this makes things more comfortable, it does not get to the root cause of your suffering. While a chiropractor is great for structural work, sounds like a naturopath Doctor could be of help.

You are right to be wary of Steriod drugs, in the long term they damage your health (particularly bone health), so personally I would only use them as an emergency stop gap while other avenues were being explored.

I am not familiar with enzyme therapy, I hear good things, but have also heard practitioner stories of over dosing and resulting poor health. I get the impression this is pretty powerful stuff, and apart from assisting digestion enzymes, personally I would want to be in expert hands (particularly with regard to dose)before taking this avenue further.

Otherwise glad to hear you have been making progress.
