Colonics hoax?

I am also posting this on this forum because no one replied on the Bowel Cleanse Forum . I hope that someone can help!

I had a colonic recently and wondered if I got the "real" deal. Hopefully, those of you who have had colonics before can answer my question.
The reason I am not sure if it was effective is because I did not feel any different during the process than when I do an enema. I had expected to feel more pressure, feel it higher up, etc. I had expected to "feel" something different. My husband who had his two colonics there said that he didn't feel any different either, it was just like having an enema.
The lady who administers these colonics says she's been doing it for 12 years now. Her equipment surely looks to be that old, just a few old pipes. Also, no tube we could look at to see what comes out.

My question seems to boil down to this: If you close your eyes and don't know which will be given to you, could you tell if it is an enema or a colonic?

Any comments?
Were we taken in or did we expect too much?
