Radiation doesn't cure anything.  It damages.  At best, it eliminates the symptoms of an underlying cause by fatally damaging the cancer cells - but even then it does nothing to address the underlying cause.  The most fortunate patients are those whose natural bodies are able to effect an actual cure and have not been severely compromised by the radiation.  Radiation damages surrounding tissue as well as the cancer cells and it most often severely destroys and impairs the natural immune system, especially bone marrow which lies at the very heart of our immune systems.  Like surgery, radiation might be useful to buy time with in some instances, but one should not bet their life on it - and there are often better, safer options.
