I don't think that the glycerin caused the Fordyce spots. The spots may have been there in my lower lip, underneath all my exfoliation, for months. It might just have been that I started to SEE the Fordyce spots when my lips finally healed enough that I could see beyond the wildly-exfoliating surface. The top layers of my bottom lip were so ruffled up and irritated in the past few months that the internal lip structure (where the Fordyce spots are) was not visible to me until mid-December.
