Re: Juice Fast
Willowley on MH's OJ fast? I certainly hope NOT!
On this forum, we utilize & suggest only the best/safest, most consistent, PROVEN healing protocols of healers that actually healed people (as in, were actually in practice and took joint responsibility for the lives & well-being of their patients)...Dr. Gerson, Dr. Christopher & Dr. Schulze. Combined, these great healers have healed tens of thousands of people that followed their protocols (safely!). There have several people on CZ alone in the past years that have gotten into trouble with OJ fasting. There's simply NO reason to do any kind of "experimenting", especially with things that are totally (and some might say, dangerously) nutritionally unbalanced.
Dr. Christopher's IP was one week on carrot juice, one week on apple juice and one week on grape juice (with extra/balancing vitamins & minerals from blackstrap molasses and/or honey, herbal teas, potassium broth and wheat germ and olive oil); Dr. Gerson was primarily apple, carrot & mixed greens for juicing; Dr. Schulze also loved apple/carrot, but allowed most any juices desired (or whatever was preferred for their specific issue).
Dr. Max Gerson's thoughts on OJ: http://www.gersonhawaii.us/gersonarticle7.html
Gerson felt that this was the least important juice and added it primarily for the convenience of the patient in that so many people are used to orange juice to start the day. Recent research indicates that there may be some undesirable aspects to orange juice, such as excess mucus formation when large quantities are consumed....Take no more than 1 citrus juice per day. From the Gerson Book, "Citrus juices should not be used by patients who are suffering from collagen diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus erythematosus"
with all the medication that is in my system "Medication in your system"? Oh honey, I hope you're not taking over-the-counter or pharmaceutical medicines while you're pregnant - or when/after you deliver
Many sites suggest not to juice fast while pregnant (I have no idea why, because it makes NO sense), but now is the perfect time to be juicing a mixed variety of organic fruits & veggies (and taking tons of Superfood). If I were pregnant, I'd be eating very cleanly and doing my best to ingest at least 1/2 gallon of fresh juice daily.
There's no reason to be constipated when pregnant - IF#1 or LBB should work beautifully.
Healthiest of blessings -
