I'm afraid you will have to stick with the advise of your chiropractor because I do not advise cleansing when you are nursing.  The only exception would be to keep the bowel moving.  In other words, if you are constipated, I would definitely use something to keep the bowels moving so you can keep the toxins cleaned out of the body.  Beyond that, I do not recommend cleansing while nursing unless there is a life-threatening problem going on.  The reason for this is that the toxins will go to the milk.  If you are cramping, I'm surprised your baby is not screaming with cramps.  Whatever you take internally will go to the baby and will usually cause the same side-effects as they are causing for you - except, quite often, much worse.  All of us have parasites and need to periodically clean them out.  I just don't recommend doing it while you are nursing.
