throat soreness, neck stiffness with a fatty liver

I am happy to find this forum. From reading other posts I feel a very positive energy from this group, and feel like I have come to the right place. I have been suffering for quite a long time with no resolution with what I and the doctor thought to be acid reflux. I am finally sick of tired of feeling sick and I am making 2010 the year I heal this ailment. I have taken Prevacid for a short time and used to take Zantac quite a bit. These drugs never really worked much for me and for a long time now I have just been enduring with the pain and discomfort.

My symptoms used to be terrible indigestion and a soreness at the bottom of my throat on the right side (sometimes I feel soreness higher in the throat as well, but it is always on my right-hand side). I am always clearing mucus out of this area of my throat. My throat usually feels much better after eating something. I also have a chronic stiff neck, which most likely partially due to my job staring at a computer monitor all day, but I feel is still related to the throat issue due to the epicenter of the stiffness/soreness being right in the same area as the throat soreness, the bottom right side of the back of my neck.

I have had tests for acid reflux, where they test the stomach valve and they did not find a problem with the valve. I have had an endoscopy as well where the doctor saw what he described as mild gastritis in the area of my throat pain. The doctor also did blood tests and found my
liver function to be less than normal, then an ultrasound and found that I have a fatty liver. I feel like the problem is most likely due to multiple things. I have addressed the first successfully, being indigestion and all around digestion problems. I used to have a terrible diet my bowel movements would often be so acidic they would burn my rectum, sometimes I would have foam in them, which I have since learned is due to candida.

I have since began eating 100% vegan, and mostly, (I would estimate) 95% raw organic fruits and veges for the past two weeks now. My bowel movements have been great, I feel the acidity in my body gone, I have yet to feel any indigestion even eating things that used to bother me such as citrus and peppers since starting the raw diet.

Unfortunately, I still feel the throat soreness and this kind of baffles me because I have always thought the pain was from the acid from the indigestion. I have read some info that says these are symptomatic of a toxic liver, and I think this makes sense taking into account the problem the doctor found with my liver. I have since had a series of colonics by a lady who was a naturopath in India. She recommended a liver detox procedure, which I want to start ASAP (unless someone can recommend something else).

She says I should eat an apple for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, eating a clove of garlic with each apple. The 2nd day 2 garlic cloves with each apple, until the fifth day(if I can make it to the fifth day, she said to try to do it for at least 3 days) where I would eat 5 cloves for each apple. On the fifth evening I am to have 1 cup of olive oil, 1/2 cup of lemon or grapefruit juice, and 1 teaspoon of epsom salt. However, I am open to some other recommendations because I have yet to find this procedure documented anywhere I have researched on the web and I would prefer to do something where I can see positive feedback from others with similar ailments. I would like to humbly thank you for reading my post and wish you a wonderful new year.

With unconditional love,
mes
