To provide information and support for people wishing to take up a plant based diet.
What is a plant based diet? It is the type of diet that is supported by a group of eminent doctors and scientists, who generally agree that this is the correct diet for human beings.
They also agree that the state of health is a natural state, and illness is not a normal state, but the food we eat plays a large contribution to our ill health.
A plant based diet is ouir birthright. It's the all concrete, television sets and manipulated research that makes us "processed people". It is very difficult to discover the truth about nutrition because the truth is hidden from us. Even if you do find the truth (it is not easy, and in some ways an incremental journey), there is huge peer pressure to conform with the old ways. People will persuade you "just a little bit won't harm", and you will find it impossible to buy good qulity organic whole food when you are out and about. If you tell people they can reverse diabetes and heart disease by eating brocolli, they think you are crazy.
For the people that do discover the truth, it is a little like taking the red pill in the matrix. You begin to realise what you were doing to your body, and want to tell others, but they don't listen. Give any concessions, such as share in someone's birthday cake, and they welcome you back into the fold with open arms, just like a lost sheep.
For most people, the illusion is a reality. You often hear "Everything in moderation is OK". Well for me it's not.
So I am trying to find practical ways to eat properly in this concrete jungle, and also trying to help friends overcome their illneses. Maybe I can extend that to people online, now I have done the Certification program.
One other important point I think is to focus on being positive. In this Ted Talk, Dr Dean Ornish - one of the pioneering group, says the difference between wellness and illness is to cross of the word "ill" and replace it with the word "we".
