Re: Iodine and video games

From another thread, this is my diet:

"Now, though (for the past few months) I drink only reverse-osmosis filtered bottled water which (as far as I can tell!) has no fluoride. My diet is rather simple: mostly whole grains, oatmeal, flax, salmon, milk & cheese. Mostly organic. I take supplements in place of fruits & vegetables because I haven't the slightest idea how to be sure of the quality of produce and I dread having to learn that. Also produce is expensive compared to supplements! I have replaced coffee with raw organic cacao. "

The only time I eat much else is when social pressures demand it (i.e. holiday dinners). But I have only been on this diet for a few months so I am sure the first 22 years of my life caused many problems.

I'd say my BMs are more along the line of type 3. And I'm not sure but I'm guessing the transit time is a whole lot more than 8 hours. For example if I eat spicy food I don't seem to pass it for about 36 hours. I think I eat too much fiber for the amount of calories...about 40-60 grams of fiber for probably less than 2000 calories a day. I'm sure my digestive tract is also pretty miserable due to terrible eating habits for the first 22 years of my life, I'm thinking of doing some kind of cleanse at some point but I'm not sure how I'm going to decide what the best one is.

Is it safe to take Iodine during a cleanse?

Regarding the suggestion to decrease Iodine intake if the symptoms continue, isn't that what you're NOT supposed to do, if I'm reading this forum correctly? The inability to play Halo at optimum levels isn't a particularly great concern of mine, so I'm hardly going to let detox symptoms manifesting there dissuade me from the big picture...I just think it's an interesting test case where my mental state is particularly observable.
