S. Dermatitis

HI-

I have been diagnosed with S.D and prescribed clobetosol propinate (a steroid) and an anti-fungal shampoo. Over all I am skeptical on using them, they show little results after prolonged use.
I believe I got my S.D from an incident- a friends old,dirty house window broke over my head. Ever since then, I have had this.
Also, soon after I showed symptoms of this, so did my husband.
We both have S.D
It is on my scalp, there is severe flaking and a patch behind my ear. When apply the Coal shampoo it does cause the keratinized skin build up to sluff away, but I do have long hair, its hard to treat for my scalp.
My brother has psoriosis, but the derm. is insistent I do not.
I am sick of being prescribed B.S....
Please help by just listing some of the remedies/cures that have worked for you.
