Not only as an isolated incident, however. I realize anyone can make a mistake and as a parent tend to be forgiving.

But when there is a repeated pattern over time, only then am I inclined to pass judgement.

It's like drunk drivers. They shouldn't be tolerated in the first place, but after a couple strikes, the civilized people deserve protection from their abuses, for if left unchecked, they continue unabated.
