update: 6 mo. sober, & heavy metal detox

So now i've been sober for 6 months, a whopping half year, and i have no regrets about that. I've given up smoking (see explanation that follows), so now my way of 'celebrating' is to indulge in things like coffee, candy and coca-cola (y'know, the heavy stuff).

It's only been a couple weeks after finding out from my hair test that i've got too many heavy metals in my body. I've been using DMSA to remove the metal, and what i've noticed is that when the DMSA chelator releases the metal from my tissues into the bloodstream, i have moments of feeling vaguely uneasy, uncomfortable like i did for so many years. During those moments of undefinable uneasiness, that's when i start to want things like cigarettes, sugar, caffeine, THC, alcohol. What a funny coincidence, huh?

I'd be really curious to know if there are any alcoholics here who happen to have too much metal in their systems?

(and i post this message in light of the addiction article posted yesterday on this forum)
