I have never heard of these types of symptoms presenting when using licorice. So, my first question would be - what else was in the supplement? Since you use the word 'supplement', I'm assuming this was a combination of some kind. In persons with a poor diet, licorice root has sometimes been known to cause a problem called 'hypokalemia' which means low potassium levels. This, in turn, can cause an increase in heart rate. However, this should disappear as soon as you stop taking the supplement. As far as the lump goes, I don't have enough information to make an educated guess. Tweet
