I overheard a conversation of a clerk at Best Buys here in Reno a couple of months ago, about his plugged ear. I enquired and he told me that due to the shape of his ear channel his ear clogs up regularly and he uses an over-the-counter remedy to dissolve the plug. You could ask your local pharmacist for the product.
This is for removing a plug formed from the OUTSIDE of the ear due to build-up of ear wax.
If you have blockage of the channel that connects the ear to the nose (I don't know the medical term), then you should see a doctor and find out if you have an inner ear infection. Such a blockage won't allow you to equalize the pressure in the ear with the outside pressure and also can be quite painful. Like if you go on a plane and you have a cold and pressure builds up in the ear and it start to hurt when the plane climbs to higher altitude.
When I have a cold and my ears clog up, for example at night and I can't sleep because of the discomfort, then I jump on my trampoline to exercise the lymphatic system and the lymphatic liquid quickly drains and my ears pop.
