I've spent a long time in the alternative wilderness and one thing I can tell you is that the disease do become deadly when treated by medical procedures. Also, I've notice that People in Natural healing don't resort to medical fear-mongering when discussing these diseases, they're reassuring because they understand them better, that's why Tony could tell you right away to discard the 'death sentence' tag.
