Re: Hot Cold Debate

I don't think it was wise at all. I think it was scarcastic and scarcaism does not help.

Personally, I think the earth is capable of sustaining a human population without resorting to grass huts and bare feet. I think, too, that the human race is entitled to a few mistakes since we have literally started from scratch. Of course, we have gone beyond "a few mistakes" due to greed, which, I feel, originates in fear. Fear of not having enough. Fear of being exposed to the unknown. Fear of the awesome power of the universe over which the individual has no control. So we built our fortresses and gathered together everything we could to keep out the cold..and screw the next guy...then it sort of snowballed from there.

We could have gone in another direction other then the concrete and compounded interest route we took, and protected ourselves from the great unknown with love instead of fear... but life is an extremely harsh mistress. Bad things happen that scare the shit out of us, and so power over others took the place of love.

It's not to late to change. Our dear Mother Earth has untold powers of regeneration. Just try leaving a field untended and she reclaims it in a year. Little tender sprouts have the power to push right up between the cracks of the concrete.
