There is no scientific basis to the notion that one kind of yeast feeds another, if there is, I haven't found it. However the advice to avoid fermentation because of yeast is pervasive. Fungi compete with other species of fungi for resources -- oxygen, simple sugars, the area into which they grow their hyphae (potentially our lips or intestines) . . . It's more likely the alcohol made from various starches that yeast feeds on, rather than brewer's yeast itself. Some say highly-distilled vodka, if you are on the Candida diet and are compelled to break it, is the only option.

Now, if you do NOT have fungi, my guess is that beer is problematic simply because it soaks into the skin and then dries out, leaving your dead skin ready to peel, . And it would be beneficial if your condition is merely stress/anxiety related. I think prolonged kissing will just exfoliate the lips itself in the short term, but my own experience is that it worsened the long-term natural healing process.
