Re: Asthma cause and natural remedies
Off subject, but what do you think of tribulus for women? Specifically to balance hormones, and as a liver helper.
Tribulus is going to raise testosterone in women, just like men. But the testosterone will be kept in check by the higher levels of estrogen. Women do produce and need small amounts of testosterone. And some women will use testosterone to boost libido. High levels though have an opposite effect of the "bonding" hormones oxytocin and vasopressin. Testosterone increases the drive for sex, but at the same time increasing the desire to be alone.
Testosterone, like progesterone, can also promote aggression. One of the neat things about using tribulus though is that it is also a nervine, which calms the mind. So the tribulus can help counter the aggression effects of the increased testosterone.
I have never heard of tribulus being used to help the liver. But I have collected it for treating high cholesterol due to the high sterol content. We used to pull this herb out of our yard all the time as a weed. Here we call it goat's head or puncture vine.
