May I please have your advice?
Ok, this is about my husband. He seems to think this started in late June early July. I think it started last year. He was waking up in the morning with sore feet and heavy legs, which would be fine after about 30 minutes.(last year) ff to Junish. He started waking up in the middle of the night about 3am with his hands stiff and he could not make a fist. They began to swell so he could not wear his ring. Then it was pain in his neck and shoulder and the bicep muscles. Doc gives him meloxycam (sp), which does not help. He takes bloodwork and it comes back that he has a mild inflammatory response, B12 is a little low. (so I began giving him B12) He was taking extra strength tylenol and ibuprofen like candy, and it didn't really help. MRI on neck showed nothing really significant, just a little
Arthritis according to the neurologist. Lower back pain added to the mix, MRI there showed a slight bulging disc, but nothing really significant. Now add swollen ankles, then knees to the point he cannot get in the floor, and has difficulty going up and down stairs. Doc gives him more meloxycam, but he doesn't take it but a few times because it doesn't help. Also, a muscle relaxer, which he took on 2 occasions, but didn't help so no more on that either. He tells him to take glucosamine chondroitin, and fish oil which he has been doing. He gets the blood work the neurolgist ordered,
RA and ANA, for rhuematoid
Arthritis and autoimmune. Now about a week ago he says that he has a lump feeling in his throat, but is not choking or anything, just feels like a lump and is clearing his throat alot. We go back to the neurologist to get the results of the ANA part of blood test, the
RA came back normal. The ANA came back 10.6 with normal range apparently down around 1. Off the charts positive. Neurologist thinks it is lupus and refers him to a specialist, but we don't have the date for that appt yet. This is steadily getting worse. So I decide to drag him to a naturopath I have heard has a gift for "seeing" your problems. We go today and HE says he has 6
kidney stones lined up in his left ureter. He said to drink 3
oz of apricot juice and 3
oz of tonic water(with quinine) with a pinch of nutmeg plus take some pills that have dandelion, watercress, ginseng, grapevine and dulse in them. He also said he has shingles in his left lung, prostate, ankles, and blood by 60%. This he said to take BHT for. Okay we are trying this now, since nothing else has helped. He started this tonight, and has been peeing like crazy, I think maybe it is pulling the fluid from his legs where they have been swollen.
He has no 'symptoms' of
kidney stones per se, pain in his back...unless the pain he had in his lower back that went away was the kidney stones. (Thinking while I type...) He has no rash ...(lupus or shingles) I am hoping this protocol will help. But the reason I am writing is to see if anyone here has experience with these types of symptoms and or maybe do you know what this is. My husband thought the naturopath came out of left field with his thoughts. Maybe, but I hope it helps him, nothing anyone has done has stopped the progression of this.
FYI he doesn't eat all that well, and I have a hard time getting him to drink fresh juice. I cook with coconut oil, but get complaints, may just be my cooking. :( Anyway, doesn't like nuts, fish, veggies other than okra, cucumber, tomato, corn. Loves junk. I've told him, but mostly rings on deaf ears to eat better. What to do??
Thanks for getting down here if you made it.
I do have him taking selenium, and I got some boron when we thought it was arthritis, but since it isn't he hasn't taken anymore of that.
*edit* forgot at that last visit to the neuro he gave him darvocet for the pain and it did not help and he won't take anymore of that either. Neuro said that he could give him steroids but wouldn't bc of the nasty side effects and it only masks the real problem.
