Ducks like vegetable too. I like to use silky hens, they don't scratch a lot are docile and not escape artists.

I put them in for a week or two before planting and remove them at planting time. Once the garden matures I turn them in again. These little chickens have brought slugs and snails to extinction in my garden. Tweet
