Re: If we get the flu while pregnant...
Thank you for your advice. I am trying to get my diet back to where it was before I got sick. I was eating mostly raw foods and no meat or dairy. I was also taking milk thistle, liquid chlorophyl, SuperFood Plus, Wheat Germ oil & drinking 1 quart red raspberry tea a day. I thought all that would help prevent the hyperemesis gravidarum I've had with my other pregnancies. Unfortunately it didn't, although I think it has been lessened. My goal this time was to stay out of the hospital if I got sick, so I did end up going on medication but have been able to make it on very low doses compared to other pregnancies. I'm very disappointed that my diet changes over the last few years and the herbs I was using didn't prevent the HG. I know that those things have helped other women, but I can't understand why they didn't help me. Or maybe they did some since I've been able to control it better.
Anyway, I never take medication, but for some reason when I'm pregnant I cannot stop throwing up and I end up dehydrated and in the hospital. I wanted to stay as far away from that as possible especially with all the flu, so I did take the meds since the herbs weren't stopping it. Now that I'm coming off the medication, I'm trying to go back to my healthy diet (I've had to rely on whatever my husband was making since I was in bed--he's not into healthy eating). I'm also wondering if I should be using something to clean out my bowels since the medication that stops the vomiting also stops other important functions. Is there any advice there?
I just purchased some more essential oils and I believe I have thieves, and I have many of the Doterra blends and singles. Are most essential oils fine to use topically during pregnancy? I will get some of the herbs you mentioned also to keep on hand.
Thanks for all your help.
