How to neutralize Iodine in sea salt

Dear folks,

the fact that among the 2 artificial substances put in salt besides sodium fluoride (neurotoxic, toxic for bones), there is potassium Iodate which in considerate doses has been shown to cause eye damage.

My problem is that the only organic mashed tomatoe brand in my local store...and it has Sea Salt in it which contains potassium iodate.

Is it possible to neutralize the potassium iodate or convert it into a not so toxic Iodine molecule? Would adding himalayan crystal salt help?

thanks,

peace
