My Granddaughter has joined the fast growing group of home schoolers..........

My oldest granddaughter started middle school (6th grade) this year. Half the school began getting sick with the swine flu. My granddaughter started out with strep throat, missed a week of school, went back and one week later, got strep throat again........missed more school.....went back and then had bronchitis....missed more school....went back and then had pneumonia. Her doctor said that the only way to keep her well was to remove her from the school (where all the sickness is) and home school her. My daughter thought he was kidding, but when he did a follow up phone call wanting to know if she had removed her from school, she knew he was serious.

She researched and found that home schooling is growing at a rapid pace. Home Schoolers socialize, have sports and even have a prom.

So far, it's working out great.
