Mylofibrosis or Polycythemia Vera info Please

Hi all, I'm not really sure where to begin or what direction to move in. I have a friend whose doctors are telling her that she either has Mylofibrosis or Polycythemia vera.
After two months of tests they are still unsure of which she has but none of it sounds good. I know this is a leukemia forum but I didn't see a forum for any of the others and since these disorders can be linked to leukemia I thought I would ask here.
My friend's doctors are not treating her with anything currently and perhaps they can't because they don't know what it is yet. Never one to sit back and wait, I've decided to visit the forums to see if anyone knows of or has experience with these disorders and suggestions for treatment.
Maybe I'm asking the wrong questions, as I don't know enough yet to ask the right ones. But any info on natural treatments, success stories, or small wins would be greatly appreciated. If someone could let me know of a treatment, why it works, and what aspect of the disorder(s) it helps to treat would be great! Anything at all would be a big help.
My friend is 29 yrs old and feels as though she has reached the end of her life. I don't want her to give up without first knowing her options and what's possible. Thank you for any help you can give!
