Hello I have a suggestion for FBO sufferers that may help a lot of people. I have suffered with this since I was 12 and the FBO is episodic for me I don't know if I have TMAU or what but that is my best guess. Anyway I megadosed B5/pantothenic acid for a long period of time about 3 years or so due to acne.
I took 10 grams a day for 3 months then continued a maintenance dose of about 2 grams a day for the rest of the time. During this period of time I had no symptoms of FBO whatsoever nobody asking "what smells" etc. I had a girlfriend and attended classes 5 days a week and had a pretty full social life hanging out with friends and no incidents whatsoever. I had to stop taking B5 due to hair loss that started about three years in. Right when I stopped B5 the odor returned. I believe I am going to go back on B5 in conjunction with a B supplement and I would rather be bald than live with this problem.
This is a real post concerning real results in curbing FBO significantly or eliminating it from your life I can honestly say I was happy for those three years and I truly hope this helps somebody. Warning: B5 will most likely significantly upset your stomach in terms of diarrhea but if you look up it's effects on digestion I think it gives a major insight into causes of FBO. And please don't try for a day and say it works or does not work this is a solution that may take a while to start working for some.
