If you are going to use the combination of garlic oil with B&B tincture, be sure to put the garlic oil in the ear FIRST, then the B&B. The oil helps provide a buffer to the alcohol content of the B&B tincture....and given that your ear is already sensitive / inflamed, you need some soothing action.

FYI, I've used this combo off & on for a couple years now... even had MH make me a pint batch of B&B for this purpose. I've had a chronic problem for several years that usually revolves around Eustachian tubes the frequently become clogged and ache. Over the years I've tried various remedies, some with more success than others, but the combo of garlic oil followed by B&B tincture has provided reliable relief.

This is best done as a night time pre-sleep routine. If possible, you want to warm the oil just a bit, this way your ear drum wont have a moment of shock when the oil hits it. Put a good 5 drops of garlic oil into the ear, don't squirt, just ease the drops into the outer canal and give it a minute or two to sink towards the inner ear. It helps to tilt your head in a position that allows the oil to settle into the inner ear. Let that settle into the ear a minute or two. While you are at it, also rub a bit of the oil all the way around the outside of the ear and down the neck / throat. This helps to get some medicine into the lymph area. Then put a couple 2 or 3 drops of tincture into the ear AND also massage a few drops on the outside over the same area where you just rubbed in the garlic oil. Then take an appropriate sized wad of cotton to plug the ear. You don't want the plug to be real tight but you do need there to be enough of a wad of cotton that when you roll your head over to sleep for the night, you want something to absorb the oil before it runs out onto your pillow.
