The supply of the H1N1 vaccines are not forthcoming. What little are being made available have forced officials, at least in VA, to restrict them to pregnant women and younger children. Even then, those groups can't get it, even if they want it. The mother of my daughter's best friend can't get it or the seasonal flu vaccine. She WANTS her kids vaccinated. Her 1 yr old has already had a few severe respiratory infections that have landed her in the hospital. This woman is PRO VACCINE. Her 11 year old daughter got the TDap, gardisil and probably the meningitis vaccine (since the ped's were pushing it).

It's quite possible that the first kids squeeked by without it because the vaccine is currently in short supply, and their smart parents aren't pushing them to the head of the line.

I haven't ever gotten a flu shot and don't intend to start. In fact my daughter and I just got over the flu a few weeks ago. It was never tested for H1N1, so we'll never know if that is what we had or not.
