no alkalisation isnt really the issue. This water filter removes flouride as the only one that I can really find that does so. The fact is it also happens to alkalise the water slightly. I'm not sure how I would know if was doing this by forming mineral hydroxides tho?? but I don't particularly want acidic water either..
