Infertility
Since I have had several questions come in about infertility, I am going to answer this questions here, so that I only have to do it once. Infertility is on the rise all around the world for multiple reasons: acidic diets, acidic life-styles, bad water, immunizations, too many prescription drugs, hormone-filled meats and dairy, etc., etc.
Many years ago, I was visiting with a couple, in my home, about infertility - my husband walked by and asked, "Have you told them they have to have sex?" I don't think lack of sex in the world is the problem - the problem seems to go back to some real basic survival instincts of the species. All mammals will stop reproducing if they are under enough stress - it keeps them from bringing young into a dangerous situation. Secondly, if the body is fighting for survival, it knows that the first thing it can safely do without is the ability to reproduce. This is not a crucial function for keeping the indiviual alive (it is for the survival of the species, but, not the individual). Thirdly, if the female body is too acidic, it will kill off the sperm before it can fertilize the egg. If the male is too acidic, he can make weak sperm or not enough sperm - if he is acidic enough or diseased enough, he may not even be able to get the sperm to the female (if you're not sure what I'm referring to - just think about it for a minute).
When I counsel couples on infertility, I usually do it in stages. Sometimes the problem is easy to fix. With others, you have to get a little more agressive. So, I will set out the stages I recommend.
Stage 1
For the next 3 - 4 cycles, CLEAN UP YOUR DIET! If you want to alkalize your body, then you have to take a good look at your diet. 50% to 75% of the diet should be made up of fresh, live food - fruit, vegetables, grains (sprouted), nuts and seeds. (organic, if possible) Drink clean, purified water.
If you're serious about getting pregnant, then I would advise staying away from all meat and dairy. This recommendation is made - not just because these products are acidic, but they are, for the most part, full of steroids, pesticides, immunizations, hormones and many other chemicals that are going to upset the delicate chemical balance in your body. If you want to get your hormones leveled out, then you can't keep bombarding them with synthetic hormones from outside sources.
This should be a given, but just in case there's a question - NO DRUGS OR ALCOHOL. I have never felt as strongly about this as I do now - MaKayla's mother did both and now Kaylee is paying the price for it - DON'T DO IT - BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS.
Take a good look at the prescription drugs you are using - decide whether they are necessary and whether or not they will have a negative effect on your ability to get pregnant or whether they will have an effect on the baby if you do get pregnant.
Exercise - get out everyday and, at least, walk in the fresh air. Breathe deeply and take in lots of oxygen. Exercise is essential to many different functions of the body, including moving the lymph, which helps to detoxify the body.
Now, for the woman, I usually advise taking 2 capsules of Dr. Christopher's female formula, 2 capsules of Dr. Christopher's hormone formula and 2 capsules of wheatgerm oil three times per day. (you can get these from MH or Dr Christophers) If you suspect a male hormonal imbalance, then I usually recommend Dr Shultz's male formula.
Stage 2
If, after 3 to 4 cycles, you are not pregnant, then I suggest moving to Stage 2. In Stage 2, everything from Stage 1 stays in place, but we get more aggressive. For one full cycle, I recommend doing the slant board routine. If you have the Dr Mom's Healthy Living book, you will find the instructions for this on pages 193 - 194.
The slant board routine helps women who are dealing with problems such as: cysts, endometriosis, adhesions, cervical growths, etc. Just about anything can be used as a slant board: two or three folded bath towels which you can prop your hips up on in the bathtub, an ironing board or some other board where you can prop one end up about 18 in. off the ground, or a commercial slant board.
You will need something to douche with: an enema bulb, a turkey baster, an enema bucket, or a commercial douche bag. The idea is to get the fluid up into the vagina, so use what you have on hand. The herbal combinations you will need are: Castor oil, the VB formula, the yellow dock combination in it's cut form and some cocoa butter. The herbs in the VB formula are designed to draw things out. The herbs in the yellow dock combination are designed to nourish.
Melt the cocoa butter on the stove, add enough VB powder to make a paste about the same consistency as Play-do or pie crust dough. Fill the cubicles of an ice cube tray with the VB mixture and put it in the freezer. When you need to use it, pop one of the cubes out of the tray and cut it into three pieces. The cocoa butter will melt at body temperature so you will be able to easily mold the pieces into the shape of a tampon.
The program Dr. Christopher recommended is:
Monday morning - insert 2 boluses
(remember what goes up, will come down, so where a pad)
Monday night - insert 1-2 more boluses
Tuesday morning - insert 1-2 boluses
Tuesday evening - Do the slant board routine
(instructions will follow)
Wednesday morning - insert 1-2 boluses
Wednesday evening - insert 1-2 boluses
Thursday morning - insert 1-2 boluses
Thursday evening - Do the slant board routine
Friday morning - insert 1-2 boluses
Friday evening - insert 1-2 boluses
Saturday morning - insert 1-2 boluses
Saturday evening - Do the slant board routine
Sunday - rest from your labors
Slant Board Routine
Make a quart of tea using the Yellow Dock combination. When your tea has cooled down to room temperature, put it into what ever you plan to douche with. Set your tea and castor oil next to your slant board. Put a couple of towels on the slant board as this can become messy. Lay on the slant board head down and douche with the Yellow Dock tea. The tea is going to do two things. First, it will flush out any residual boluses from the last two days. Second, we want to get the tea up into the uterus to nourish it. After you have flushed out the boluses, allow the rest of the tea to stay up inside. While you are still in the head-down position, holding the tea inside, put some castor oil on the abdomen and massage - put your fingers above the pubic bone and draw them up toward the naval, then draw your hands in opposite directions toward the outside of the abdomen, then down and around so they meet back at the pubic bone.
Massaging helps to draw the Yellow Dock up into the uterus. It also helps to draw the organs back up where they belong, so this is very beneficial if you are dealing with a prolapased uterus or incontinency due to a fallen bladder. The castor oil helps to break up any adhesions or other stagnant conditions. I recommend staying on the slant board for 15 to 20 minutes doing this massage.
After you have followed this program for one cycle, then go back to Stage 1 for one cycle. If you are not pregnant after this last cycle, then move to Stage 3.
Stage 3
In Stage 3 you are going to follow everything in Stage 1, but you are going to add 2-4 oz of fresh wheatgrass juice to your daily diet. Then, before you go to bed at night, juice a flat of wheatgrass juice, which will give you 4-7 oz. of fresh juice. Get on your slant board and douche with the fresh wheatgrass every night for two weeks. After you have inserted the wheatgrass, while you are still on the slant board, do the same massage with the castor oil as you did in the slant board routine. Douching with the wheatgrass does amazing things for strenthening the uterus, alkalizing the female organs and cleansing the whole area so it is ready to sustain a pregnancy.
Up to this point, I have never had someone go through all of these stages and not be able to conceive, so, hopefully, it will be the same for you.
I would also highly recommend getting a book entitled "Taking Charge of my Fertility". This will greatly increase your odds of knowing when you are the most fertile. The older you are, the more important this becomes. A woman is born with all of the eggs she will ever have, so as you age, your eggs age. When a woman is in her 20's and her eggs are placed in a petri dish with live sperm - about 80 -90 percent of the eggs will become fertilized. In her 30's it drops to 60-70% and in her 40's, it's less than 40%. Also the number of hours that you are actually fertile every month continues to drop with age, so it is important to know how to read the signs of your body.
Along with the physical aspects we have discussed - it is important to eliminate as much stress as you can from your daily life and do things that bring you peace. Not only will this help you to relax enough to become pregnant - it will also be beneficial to the baby you conceive.
