Re: day 3 of an impromptu fast

Thank you so much for your post - it's not always easy to share your weaknesses and struggles with other people (especially, in an open forum like this). I'm glad that they were helpful to you. CONGRATULATIONS on your fast - I'm always thrilled to hear of someone who is willing to take the plunge, leave their comfort zone and be open to the possibilities. All of the feelings and urges you are going through are normal. The body will take this opportunity to cleanse, so you will experience cleansing reactions, such as headaches, congestion, ear aches, nausea, and also, body odor - the body is using the sweat glands to release toxins, so, sometimes, it can actually be difficult to control some of the odors. This is where several hot baths or showers can come in handy. These bad days will be mixed with days of almost feeling euphoric because you feel so good. The first three days are always the hardest, so, the answer to your question is: yes - I know what you're talking about. When I undertook my fast in Ohio, I only intended to do 21 days, but then decided later into the fast, I would go for 40. Again, congratulations - I hope you came away from your fast with a positive over-all experience.
