from the information in the article it sounds like sulfur compunds, quinine and naphta are the big triggers for the anemia this causes. that is so interesting... but i wont digress.
iodine is necessary for 87 different enzymatic processes in the body. it makes everything work better. it also does not appear to be instrumental in triggering a crisis in someone with this condition.
anyone living around the mediterranean is going to have a lot of fish in their diet and a lot of
Iodine as a result. it may be that with enough
Iodine this obvious SELECTION of genes that appear to make malaria less harmful is one that would not impede the person otherwise in a normal life so that those genes would be successfully passed on. not only does
Iodine not seem to be harmful, it may well be the key to whats missing in the persons environment in the presence of this particular genetic anomaly.
i would use the lower dose form called magnascent. it is also very bio-friendly and bio-available to human cells. it is also a form which can be painted on, say a drop on the wrist once a day. then do several drops, then graduate to a drop in a glass of water and so on. if at any time there seems to be a problem then halting the iodine will clear it from the system in less than a day. if continued increases in dose also increase benefits, you have a winner.
it is more than worth a try, imho.
