Re: refractometer - fuzzy line

Hi, folks!

The above pic is what I could call just slightly fuzzy, Sl F.

My ratings run from VS [very sharp], S [sharp], Sl F [slightly fuzzy], F [fuzzy], VF [very fuzzy], VVF to VVF.

A good reading is BOTH very high % brix AND so fuzzy/blurry/ indistinct one has to guesstimate the %.

NOTE: Also possible to get as very blurry reading if one does not have enough liquid on the glass. If there is enough liquid, you will see it adhering to both the glass and the clear plastic cover when you drop the cover on top.

If very hard to get enough liquid, you can apply a bit of pressure to the plastic cover and get a reading sometimes. Others, it will just be all indistinct like described above.

Good to see everyone still at it!!!

Happy food-hunting and healthy eating to all here.

Di
